Organic House Painting, More Than Just the Color Green

Over the past ten years, organic paints, once only available in pastel colors, have begun to hit their stride by becoming the choice paint for paint contracting companies in Southern California. Eco G Painters, a Southern California Paint Contractor Company, understands the importance of using organic house paints which emit low-VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) and how they minimally effect the environment.

According to a recent study by the Environmental Protection Agency, indoor air is three times more polluted than outdoor air, and paints and finishes are considered to be the leading causes of the top five hazards to human health. Until recently, toxins in paints and finishes were essential to the performance of the paint and for years after the application these higher VOC paints would continue emitting toxins into the air.

“We’ve definitely found that most people, when presented with the benefits, make the logical choice of going with organic paints when hiring a house painter,” states Brando Giron, Owner of Eco G Painters. “They truly understand, just like we do, that reduced toxins are a health benefit to everyone, especially to those with chemical sensitivities and allergies. There are environmental concerns as well,” continues Giron, “With zero-VOC and low-VOC paints not being deemed as a hazardous waste, the cleanup and disposal is greatly simplified therefore generating less landfill and groundwater contaminants.”

With new environmental regulations, and consumer demand, paint manufacturers are producing organic painting products that are durable, cost-effective and less harmful to environmental and human health.
